I am a teacher, writer, thinker, reader, wife, sister, daughter, friend, dancer, vegetarian, dreamer, lazy Buddhist, bird-watcher, fire-spinner, gardener, improv-performer, native Texan, wedding officiant, and lover of life. My husband and I love to travel, and we have been to all 50 states!
I officiate weddings all over Austin and the Greater Hill Country area. In addition, I teach at St. Edward’s University. I have also taught at KIPP Collegiate and LASA—and occasionally run into my students at weddings!
My basic view of the world could be summed up thusly: Be good to each other. Help one another. Forgive one another. Love one another.
How did I end up as a wedding officiant in Austin?
When my husband and I decided to marry, we discussed what marriage meant to us and what we wanted. As a result, writing our wedding ceremony was incredibly empowering. It made me realize I want to share this gift with other couples. This experience inspired me to become a wedding officiant in Austin.
As your officiant, I will start by asking some questions that will help you develop and articulate what marriage means to you as a couple. My goal is to help you create a ceremony that is significant and personal.
A native Texan and Austin resident, I perform weddings and commitment ceremonies all over Austin and the greater Hill Country area. I believe in the power of ceremony and also perform funerals or memorials as requested.
Are you legally ordained?
Yes! I trained as a wedding officiant in Austin with Spike Gillespie of Custom Hitches Weddings. I am an ordained wedding officiant and as such qualified to perform your wedding.
Exactly how is your last name pronounced?
Good question! It’s pronounced “Beck” –rhymes with “check.”
Do you have references?
Yes! Not only can you check out my reviews, but I’m listed as a preferred vendor at many venues!
